The Brisbane Broncos will investigate an incident where superstar fullback Reece Walsh is seen punching another man to the ground in a video that has been posted on social media.

This masthead has passed on the footage to Broncos chief executive Dave Donaghy and Walsh’s manager Nash Dawson to seek an explanation.

“They’re best mates,” Dawson said. “It was supposed to be a joke.”

Donaghy confirmed the club will address the situation tomorrow.

The Broncos boss is expected to broach the matter with Walsh, who launched his own Youtube channel on Sunday just hours after Brisbane’s loss to the Dragons.

It is understood the incident took place in recent days.

The video appears to show Walsh at a gathering with friends where the fullback is wearing a boxing glove before he strikes a man in the head and knocks him to the ground.

Foolishly Walsh posted the video himself on Tik Tok before later removing it.

Not before the video was posted on X, but has since been taken down.

The Broncos are privately furious that Walsh acted so stupidly to not only punch the man but then post the video on social media.

Walsh has been sidelined since the round seven game against the New Zealand Warriors with a posterior cruciate ligament injury.

Any hint of player misbehaviour at a time the Broncos have lost five of their last six games is the last thing embattled coach Michael Maguire needs to be dealing with.

Walsh took to social media on Tuesday night to explain his actions.

“Just to add context to the video recently posted - it was a joke with me (sic) best mate,” he wrote.

“No one was harmed, boys being boys.”
