Shaun Johnson will meet with specialists on Monday to determine the full extent of an ankle injury suffered at pre-season training.
The Warriors have wrapped their star playmaker in cotton wool by placing him in a moon boot and ruling him out of any further training until Monday’s appointment.
The Warriors are confident the injury isn’t serious enough for the veteran halfback to miss the start of the NRL season.
However, his availability for the club’s second and final pre-season trial match against The Dolphins on February 24 is now in question.
The veteran halfback enjoyed one of his best seasons in 2023, narrowly missing out on winning the Dally M medal to Newcastle fullback Kalyn Ponga.
