IF one of the Sydney NRL teams has to be axed from the competition the public is pretty vocal in its appraisal of which club has to go.
It’s time to go... Wests Tigers.
More than 2500 people (and counting) voted in the Daily Telegraph poll asking which Sydney club, if any, should face the axe.
An overwhelming 38 per cent of readers nominated the Tigers as the club to go.
The joint venture even topped the ‘none’ option which gained 21 per cent of support. That means just one in five of all voters believe the competition should stay exactly as it is.
The issue was brought to a head today with my column suggesting the only way to get a much-needed second Brisbane team into the competition was to punt one of the nine competing Sydney clubs.
