A LUCKY punter has achieved the unthinkable, turning $100 into a $262,600 with a single bet on the footy on the weekend.

The unidentified individual secured the enormous purse with a two-leg multi with sportsbet.com.au.

The extraordinary odds were due to the punter having to select the precise winning margin in two NRL games: the North Queensland Cowboys vs Wests Tigers and Canterbury Bulldogs vs Canberra Raiders.

The fact the Bulldogs won by a rare seven-point margin helped the odds blow out to $2,625/1.

“This will go down as one of the greatest bets of all time,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.

“The odds on offer for the two legs were $2,625/1 and the Bulldogs actually scored seven points in the final minute of their match to get the job done.”

The Cowboys were paying $26 to win by eight, and they prevailed 8-0.

The Bulldogs were $101 to win by seven, and they pulled it off via a Josh Reynolds field goal in the 41-34 win.
