Gold Coast NRLW star Jaime Chapman has hit out at the person responsible for spreading doctored images of her on the internet after becoming the victim of a deepfake attack.
Chapman, partner of Dolphins and Queensland star Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, posted a missive on social media on Monday morning suggesting it wasn’t the first time she had been the victim of a deepfake attack.
The NSW State of Origin back posted the original image- which was subsequently doctored – alongside a photo of the beach on her Instagram account.
She wrote: “Next time think of how damaging this can be to someone and their loved ones.
“This has happened a few times now and it needs to stop.”
Chapman is one of the biggest stars in the NRLW, having spent the past three seasons with the Gold Coast. She has made five appearances apiece for NSW and Australia, and was a member of the Blues squad that opened the Origin series with a win over Queensland at Suncorp Stadium earlier this month.
She has been in a relationship with Tabuai-Fidow since late last year.
“Have a good day to everyone except those who make fake ai photos of other people,” she wrote.
