South Sydney superstar has shunned Rabbitohs mad opposition leader Anthony Albanese in his suggestion for Australia’s next leader.

Anthony Albanese says his team are doing a 'good job'

NRL superstar Latrell Mitchell has made his call on Australia’s next Prime Minister, shunning avid Souths supporter and opposition leader Anthony Albanese saying “get a blak PM in”.

The South Sydney fullback made his feelings known on Monday morning, less than 24-hours after Scott Morrison called the election, posting a message to his 253,000 Instagram followers.

“He gotta go,” he captioned a photo of Scott Morrison with a cancelled sign on his face.

“Get a blak PM in, do a better job at running a country than unk.”

Mr Morrison visited the Governor-General on Sunday to dissolve parliament and call the election for May 21 declaring Australians faced “a clear choice”.

“This election is a choice between a government that you know and that has been delivering and a Labor opposition that you don’t,’’ he said.

The man most likely to be Australia’s next PM, Mr Albanese, is an avid Souths supporter and helped the side rejoin the NRL almost 20-years ago.

He was a member of the Rabbitohs’ board when the club was cut from the competition in 1999 until after their return in 2002.

During this time, he helped organise rallies, tabled motions in parliament against the club’s expulsion and was among those in a packed courtroom on July 6, 2001 when Souths’ legal team won their case for readmission.

The Labor leader later spoke in favour of selling a 75 per cent stake in the club to Russell Crowe and Peter Holmes a Court, in a meeting of more than 3000 Rabbitohs members in 2006.

He is hoping to convince everyday Australians to make him Prime Minister more than 15-years later.

Mr Albanese opened his election pitch on Sunday with a brutal sledge about Mr Morrison “going missing” in Hawaii during the bushfires.

He declared that “Australians deserve better” and pledged to restore faith in political life.

“I won’t go missing when the going gets tough,’’ he said.

The Prime Minister infamously jetted out of Australia during the 2019 bushfires before he was busted enjoying a secret family holiday in Hawaii.
