Former NRL star Josh Dugan is facing a monster five-match ban for his part in a bush footy fight last weekend.
The NSWRL announced on Tuesday that Dugan had received a grade two striking charge that will rub him out of Orange United’s grand final qualifier in the Woodbridge Cup this weekend.
The controversial former Test player incurred loading from an NRL charge for a grade two careless high tackle while playing for the Cronulla Sharks last year.
Dugan has until midday Wednesday to enter a plea, but will be banned for six matches if he contests the charge and is unsuccessful.
It comes after video emerged of Dugan throwing a punch at a Trundle player who took exception to Dugan running the ball dead on the final play of last weekend’s semi final.

Dugan also copped one on the chin for his troubles with the Trundle player catching his high profile opponent flush.
The referee reacted by sending both players from the field.
Dugan’s team won the game 26-16, but he will now be unavailable for the Warriors’ big game this Sunday against Oberon Tigers.
A former NRL Rich 100 star who was on a contract worth a reported $850,000 last year, Dugan took up an offer to play for Orange United this season after announcing his retirement from the NRL.
That came shortly after Cronulla terminated the remainder of Dugan’s contract for repeated breaches of the NRL’s Covid policies.
Dugan told The Western Advocate earlier this year that he wanted to lead the way for a new generation of bush footy players.
“For me personally, it’s about getting back in the community and helping out the Indigenous boys,” Dugan said at the time.
