In a post featuring a picture of the happy couple and an active ultrasound of their bouncing bundle of joy, Maria posted: “Our family is growing! We can’t wait to meet our baby girl in October”.

While the footy world can be quite parochial, the news of a baby Tedesco saw NRL stars from across the league celebrating the news.

Blues and Panthers halfback Nathan Cleary posted: “Congrats guys!! How good”.

It was a sentiment echoed by Sharks forward Dale Finucane.

Roosters halfback Sam Walker added: “Congrats guys.”

Queensland and Cowboys star Valentine Holmes wrote: “Congrats to you both”.

New Zealand Warriors forward Bayley Sironen commented: “Best! Congrats guys”.

Former Rooster now Titan Sam Verrills said: “Congrats guys happy for you! How good.”

Other players such as Tyson Frizell and Josh Morris also commented, while plenty of other famous friends including chef Matt Moran and celebrity stylist Jamie Azzopardi also joined in.

The pair had been dating for more than a year before Tedesco proposed to Maria back in November 2021.

With the footy year leaving a small window outside of the intensity of training, particularly after last years’ rugby league World Cup in England, the Tedesco’s wed on January 7 this year, the day before Tedesco’s 30th birthday.

Former Wests Tigers teammate and now Eels halfback Mitchell Moses was one of Tedesco’s groomsmen while past and present Roosters stars and a host of other NRL stars were on hand to witness the nuptials.

Tedesco has been sidelined for the past two weeks after being concussed by Eels winger Bailey Simonsson.

At 30-years-old, Tedesco has played 208 first grade matches including 90 for the Wests Tigers and 118 for the Roosters.

He has also been a representative mainstay, having played 19 Origin matches for NSW and 10 Tests for Australia.
