The Wests Tigers have apologised for an ugly fan brawl that saw police officers targeted on Sunday.

The Tigers’ loss to the Rabbitohs at Campbelltown Stadium was marred by a wild brawl on the sideline that left two men in hospital and two police officers being treated for cuts and bruises.

Nine News aired footage of the incident, which showed a group of mostly men punching and kicking each other on the ground.

Children watching the game next to fight were taken away removed from the ugly scenes.

One man was seen with blood trickling over his head, while the fight spilled outside the stadium with police officers seen tackling a man to the ground in an arrest.

According to a statement from NSW Police, two men were arrested and two police officers were assaulted after a fight broke out in the second half of the NRL game at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Sunday night.

Police said one officer was punched in the head and a second in the face.

“A further two men were injured with one being taken by ambulance to Liverpool Hospital with suspected concussion, and a second man taken by ambulance to Campbelltown Hospital suffering facial injuries,” the police statement said.

“Additional assistance was sought from neighbouring commands with officers attached to Campbelltown City PAC, South West Metropolitan OSG and the Dog Unit attending.

“A 30-year-old man was arrested for affray, assault police (two counts), and resist arrest. He has been granted conditional bail to appear in Campbelltown Local Court on 12 June 2025.

“A 28-year-old man was arrested for common assault and will be issued with a future court attendance notice. Four people were evicted from the stadium. The injured officers have been treated for cuts and bruising.”

The Tigers released a statement on Monday saying they were investigating the incident.

“Wests Tigers are aware of incidences that occurred during our Round 11 match against the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Campbelltown Sports Stadium,” the Tigers said.

“The club is investigating, once we have the full security and police reports we will act accordingly.

“This kind of behaviour will not be tolerated by the club, and we apologise to all those caught up in the in the situations, especially to the police officers anyone else hurt in the events.”
