The Broncos fell agonisingly short of winning the club’s first NRL premiership since 2006 in a heartbreaking grand final loss to Penrith.
The scars of that defeat could run deep at Red Hill and there is no guarantee Brisbane will get the chance for redemption next year.
The Broncos have lost four quality players from their grand final squad in Test stars Tom Flegler (Dolphins), Herbie Farnworth (Dolphins), Kurt Capewell (Warriors) and Keenan Palasia (Titans).
That void will be difficult to fill and so far Brisbane’s recruits for 2024 are Roosters prop Fletcher Baker and Dragons forward Jaiyden Hunt.
The Broncos are banking on their emerging stars like Deine Mariner, Xavier Willison, Blake Mozer and Ben Te Kura to step up in the coming years.
