WANDERERS have been dealt a massive blow in the midst of finals with captain and talisman Braedon McLean facing a potential three-match ban.
McLean who picked up 26 disposals in his side’s qualifying win against St Mary’s has played a massive role in the Muk Muk’s finals push in the 2020-21 season.
The skipper has been charged with rough conduct against Saints’ stalwart Shaun Edwards in the third quarter of the match on February 27.
The incident has been classified as intentional conduct with medium impact and high contact resulting in a three-match penalty, down to two matches with an early guilty plea.

McLean’s on-field leadership and skillset will be a big miss for Wanderers should the suspension happen though the club has yet to decide if they will contest the charges.
Another Muk Muk in Thomas Motlop has also been charged following the qualifying final against St Mary’s.
Motlop, who had 15 disposals and eight marks, was charged for rough conduct against Saint Jack Landt in the second quarter.
The incident was classified as intentional conduct resulting in low impact and body contact earning Motlop a one-week penalty, reduced to a reprimand with an early guilty plea.
In the Men’s Division 1 competition Thomas Finlay of Banks has been charged with striking Robert Bos of Pint.
The incident occurred in the fourth quarter of the qualifying final match that saw the Bulldogs lose 9.6 (60) to 7.5 (47) against the Greenants.
The incident was classified as careless conduct with low impact and high contact resulting in a one-match penalty that will be reduced to a reprimand with an early guilty plea.
