Fans hoping to get their hands on tickets to the 2025 Australian Grand Prix have been left disappointed, with some claiming dynamic pricing meant they couldn’t go.

F1 fans hoping to secure tickets to Melbourne in 2025 have been left disappointed after pre-sale was impacted by dynamic pricing.
Punters already knew tickets would likely be $20 higher than last year’s prices, with the cheapest general admission ticket costing $169 for the 2025 event.
Despite the expected cost, one unsuccessful F1 fan told NewsWire she’d had tried to buy a two day pass but they were all sold out when she finally got through the queue to the checkout on Wednesday.
“The grand stand we were looking at was $420 for a two day pass and then went up to $695 due to ‘in demand tickets’,” she said.
“I was devastated that I could not get tickets.”
The Queensland resident said she and a group of her friends had each been trying to get tickets but not a single one could acquire one, even for general admission.
She said the group was waiting in the queue for ages to buy tickets, with some of her friends reporting there was nearly 1500 other users ahead of them in the queue.
Other fans took to social media to share their outrage about unable to secure tickets, whether that was because of them being sold out or they couldn’t justify the dynamic pricing.
“Melbourne F1 ticket process was an absolute disgrace,” on person said on X, formally Twitter.
“So disappointed to be stuck in queues, back to other queues, then no tickets available despite the site still saying that tickets are available. Awful.”
One person said Ticketmaster had been “bottling the tickets” again for the first F1 event of the racing season.
“Show us how many tickets you sold at the ‘from’ prices advertised you rip off merchants,” they said on X.
“It’s a joke you allow your fans to be treated like this.”
Another said: “tickets for the Formula 1 in Melbourne are ridiculously expensive”.
One person even called the entire purchasing experience a “nightmare”.
“Tried in pre sale ballot, first day general and then second day general,” they said.
“Get to the end of the queue. All sold.”
It comes after the sale of tickets was delayed a full day due to a global outage.
Tickets for the March event were set to be released for purchase at 12pm on Tuesday, however Ticketmaster announced at 12.07pm on social media the sale had been delayed due to a “global third-party outage”.
“Due to a global third-party outage, the FORMULA 1 AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX general public on sale will be delayed until tomorrow Wednesday 9 October 12pm (AEDT),” the statement, posted to X, read.
“We apologise for the inconvenience.”
The event will be held between March 13 and 16 in Melbourne.
