‘Both of us’: Pierre Gasly’s wild throuple proposition with fellow F1 driver

F1 driver Pierre Gasly has revealed a truly bizarre proposition he and Charles Leclerc received from a fan that took things too far.

Formula One driver Pierre Gasly has given an insight into just how intense fans of the sport can be, revealing he and Charles Leclerc were once propositioned for a throuple.

The French and Monegasque drivers have risen through the F1 ranks together and while Leclerc has gone on to become a championship contender, Gasly’s career has stuttered at Alpine after his lone race win in 2020.

The duo are good friends but they had an unusual experience when a fan wrote to them, asking to have a relationship with both them.

Gasly, 28, recounted the bizarre ordeal on the JAAQ Jr show, attempting to make the story PG-rated given he was being interviewed by two children.

The Frenchman was asked about the strangest interaction he’d had with a fan.

“Once, we received a letter with Charles Leclerc, another race driver who is like my best friend in the paddock,” Gasly said.

“And it was someone that wanted to … have some sort of relationship with both of us.

“(They said) ‘if you’re down for it, just wink at your post-qualifying interview on Sky Sports’.

He added, pinching his eyes wide open: “So I really made sure that both of my eyes were wide open!

“We had a chat about it because we received exactly the same letter. Sometimes the fans take it very far!”

Gasly has been with his girlfriend, model Kika Cerqueira Gomes, since 2022.

Leclerc is in a relationship with Alexandra Saint Mleux, who has frequently attended his races since they went public early last year.

Gasly, Leclerc and their partners went to Taylor Swift’s concert in Milan together during the mid-season break.

Intense F1 fandom has only grown in the age of social media and the sport’s increasing popularity thanks to Netflix’s Drive to Survive.

Leclerc has previously asked his fans to give him space after they would wait for him outside his home in Monaco.

Gasly has endured a tough season with Alpine — he currently sits 16th in the standings with four races remaining.

It’s been a dire year for Alpine but Gasly has re-signed with the French outfit on a multiyear deal.

Leclerc has three race wins this year — at his home race in Monaco, Ferrari’s home race in Monza and at this month’s United States Grand Prix.

The consistency of Leclerc and Mexican Grand Prix winner Carlos Sainz has helped Ferrari leapfrog Red Bull in the constructors’ championship.

Ferrari is now just 29 points behind McLaren in the team standings and has a realistic chance of taking home the lucrative prize for the first time since 2008.

McLaren hasn’t won the constructors title since 1998.

The F1 season continues at the Brazilian Grand Prix this weekend, with the race scheduled for Monday at 4am (AEDT).
