A talented Northern Territory teenager with a massive dream, Tate Hall is determined to do whatever it takes to reach the pinnacle of motorsport.
A revhead with a passion for fanging it at top speed, Hall has been behind the wheel of a kart since he was nine-years-old.
From a family of sport nuts, Hall didn’t fall far from the tree; the Ferrari fanatic has already been scouted by a Sydney based motorsports team due to his promise and high ceiling.
Supported fiercely by his father Skip the pair is a two man crew that travels, funds and races together.
However, for Hall – who currently races in the KA3 Junior category – to elevate himself into the next echelon of junior racers he needs to travel interstate, something that carries a financial impost.
“I’m going to continue to focus on improving myself across my physical and mental abilities, and will travel to more interstate events and tracks to compete against the best and prove my worth,” Hall said.
“My first event of the 2025 season is next weekend at the “Young Guns Championship” in Oakleigh, Victoria.”
A confident young man, Hall said his ability to learn on the fly and adapt set him apart from the pack.
“My ability to adapt quickly to new tracks and higher standards (are some of my strengths), but from growing up in the NT, the biggest strength I have from other drivers is resilience.”
Hall’s biggest supporter, Skip, who has a history in elite sport himself, believes his son has the goods to make the big time but is under no illusions about the hurdles and difficulties ahead.
“Tate is incredibly passionate and very brave,” he said.
“He never shows any signs of being intimidated at any big events he is racing in and doesn’t get awe-struck by individuals that he is racing against, nor where he has to travel to compete.
“Each trip away is a challenge for my wife and I.
“They take roughly a minimum of five days if we fly or 10 days if we drive our own trailer and equipment down.
“By the time airfares, accommodation, hire car, event entry, new tyres, and team fees are added up there isn’t much room to move at $6500 plus food and any damage incurred repairs and parts.”
Despite the adversity, Hall is determined to make the 2025 World Championship in Europe, a chance he has earned having qualified to compete in the 2025 Australian Kart Championship, the premier karting series in Australia.
