Hector showed his true wrath at the weekend as the famous storm cell delivered flash flooding and lightning upon Wurrumiyanga (Stanley Tipiloura) Oval.

What began as a scorching hot day for the women’s premier league match between the Tiwi Bombers and visiting Palmerston Magpies turned into something out of a movie as torrential rain and lightning enveloped the playing field.

Fortunately for the home crowd the day produced two victories – albeit one due to weather rules – with the women triumphing 11.14 (80) to 4.4 (28) and the men winning in a 8.7 (55) to 3.5 (23) scoreline.
