NTFL: Territory junior footy stars picked for Michael Long Cup
The Territory’s best young footy talent will take centre-stage this weekend in the annual Michael Long Cup. See which players have been marked as the stars of the future.

The best young footy talent from across the Territory will be showcased in the highly anticipated 2024 edition of the Michael Long Cup this weekend.
The annual event hosted over two days at TIO Stadium brings the best players from every competition in the Territory together to show off their talent.
And as an extra slice of inspiration each of the four competing teams is named in honour of a recent AFL or AFLW draftee from the NT.
Team Bush is named in honour of Ashanti Bush, from the small community of Beswick, who was selected by the Gold Coast Suns in the 2021 AFLW draft.
The side will compete against Team Kievit, named after Annabel Kievit, who recently joined Bush at the Suns after being picked up in the 2023 draft.
On the men’s side is Team Johnston for Lloyd Johnston, a rising star at the Suns who made his AFL debut in 2023 and scored his first top flight goal earlier this year at TIO Stadium.
And there’s Team Rowlands named after Will Rowlands, who was selected with pick 18 in the 2023 Rookie Draft, also by the Suns, and has showed his skills he first learned at Southern Districts.
This year’s Michael Long Cup includes two matches for each team on both Friday and Saturday, giving football fans plenty to look forward to.
In addition to the matches played, the 2024 Michael Long Cup will offer a comprehensive camp-style experience.
Players will have the unique opportunity to engage in a range of activities, including wellbeing education sessions, prep to play programs, gym technique workshops, and football skill sessions.
Participants will also be introduced to the Cazalys NT Talent Academy values, training standards, expectations to commence their talent journey.
