The 2024 Darwin and District Cricket Competition has delivered plenty of thrilling performances in both the batting and bowling departments, with standouts from just about every club.
Local players have stood out, whether it’s in the premier competition against some interstate stars, or in the junior grades where young talent is thriving.
Jagadeswara Koduru from Waratah remains the standout batter after a strong season in which he captained his side and led from the front with more than 1000 runs.
Though his massive average of 122.25 was beaten by an insane 376 from his club mate Monet Hunter, who scored 376 runs from 11 innings with 10 not outs.
Palmerston’s Hamish Martin was the pick of the bowlers in premier grade picking up the most wickets of any player in the competition with 39 across the season.
It comes as Koduru was named both the club cricketer of the year and Ralph Wiese medal winner for his sensational performances throughout the season.
Other big winners included Hannah Armstrong, who won the Women’s Cricketer of the year accolade and the Waratah club that won the Club Championship.
