STAR St Mary’s veteran Jasmine Anderson has claimed her team will have underdog status against an in-form Nightcliff in today’s elimination final at TIO Stadium.
But that doesn’t mean her side won’t be confident of victory.
The Saints played brilliant football to beat the star-studded Tigers by nine points back in Round 14.

“We’re definitely the underdogs at the moment. But if we can play like that again we’ll give them a good run for their money,” Anderson told the NT News.
The Green Machine is still smarting after two big losses to PINT and Darwin Buffaloes going into today.
But Anderson – picked up by the Adelaide Crows in 2016 and who has had an outstanding season – has taken great joy in seeing so many young Saints teammates develop.
“Girls like Charli Simmons and my sister J’Noemi are as good or even better than us older players,” Anderson, with 12 goals to her name in 2020-21, said.
“And Eliza Shannon, Alana Coombes, Rachel Ponter and Isabelle Porter have always been consistent. It’s been tough going for us without our ruck Frances Fatnowna out injured.”
Rover/forward Anderson – in her team’s best a stunning nine times this season – has loved being at the Green Machine since she went across from Darwin Buffaloes for the 2019-20 season.
“I needed a change and Saints are such a great family club,” she said.
“There’s no pressure and training sessions have been so enjoyable.”
Anderson has now moved on from her time in the star-studded Crows system.
She is just happy to concentrate on being the best player she can be in the Territory’s top football competition and be an inspirational mentor on and off the field.
“I’ve got two kids and I’m just enjoying local footy now,” she said.
“It’s hard being a mum but I’ve got great support. It’s been great playing alongside my younger sister and seeing her get better.
“She will be playing at under-18 VFLW level after this season.
“I’m happy to do anything to help our younger players get better.
“I love bringing my kids to Saints game and seeing them play with the other kids at the club.
“I’m a teacher at Manunda Primary School and I love it.”
