NIGHTCLIFF’S Mr Consistent Daniel Bowles hopes to cap off a stellar year for his side with historic back-to-back flags.

Bowles joined the Tigers in the 2016-17 season having been invited into the side by two-time Nichols medal winner Brodie Filo, and he hasn’t looked back since.

The hard-running defender has since then become an integral part of the team set-up, enjoying the Tigers’ first title in 54 years and eyeing a second at TIO Stadium tomorrow night.

“I’ve only been here for a small portion of Nightcliff’s history but to see all the long-term fans and the smiles on their faces, that’s what it’s about,” Bowles told the NT News.

“Brodie Filo invited me up and I haven’t looked back since. There’s no place I would rather be.”

Nightcliff president Mark Dodge was highly impressed with the way Bowles has played this season, considering it his best in a Tigers jersey.

“He’s been terrific this year, he’s done well over the last few seasons but he has stepped up this year,” Dodge said.

“He has really come into his own and become a leader around the club as well as an outstanding player.”

Nightcliff fans will have plenty to look forward to tomorrow, with their club making the grand final in all three divisions.

“There’s a massive buzz around the club with all three grades in the finals,” Bowles said.

“We have all put in a massive effort and it’s great to see it all pay off for us.”

Fellow Tigers Filo, Cameron Ilett and Kaine Riley will all know the importance of the occasion and look to lift their game against the only side to have got the better of them this season. Last year’s Chaney medallist Liam Holt-Fitz will also be hoping to put on a big show once again.

The Tigers saw off Districts last week to book their spot in the final, with only the fresh and rested Saints in their way.

But Bowles knows that a quick start is paramount in what will be an even encounter.

“This match could go either way really as most finals do,” Bowles said.

“We started slow against them last time which let us down and we can’t let that happen again.”
