TERRITORY Thunder will embark on a new recruitment method for next season by inviting top local talent to a mass training session next month.

Coach Xavier Clarke has been in discussions with NTFL clubs to develop a strong list of local talent and identifying interested key recruits, based on performances in the current NTFL competition.

A total of 61 players have been identified to attend a compulsory training session on December 11 to start the selection process.

Clarke said the concept will help ensure NT Thunder is made up of the best Territory talent available.

"This selection concept is a great way for identified players to learn more about the Northern Territory Football Club, the NEAFL competition and the demands of being a NT Thunder player - the training schedule, access to professional services and travel commitments during the season,'' he said.

Any under-18 State Academy players eligible for senior selection will progress through the State Academy selection process and will be named separately to the senior list.
