PLAYERS, coaches, support staff and fans of the Northern Territory Football League swapped the field for the red carpet last night to celebrate the best performers of season 2020-21.
With southerners flocking to the NT to get their taste of footy after the COVID-19 pandemic shut down leagues across the country, AFLNT chief executive Stuart Totham said he had been impressed by the quality of football in the Top End this season and was looking forward to celebrating a successful season and winners of the Nichols and Gwynne medals.
“I’m really looking forward to NTFL’s nights of nights this evening,” he said. “The talent we’ve seen in the NTFL this season has been outstanding and I’m excited to celebrate the achievements of the many talented players we have in the league.
“To be awarded the prestigious Nichols and Gwynne medals for being the best and fairest of the competition is the highest honour a player can receive.”
