It wasn’t to be for Queensland North and their ambitions of making the quarter finals in under-18 girls at the nationals.
The team needed to win large and hope Tasmania did the same against Victoria Metro in Pool A to come fourth.
Tasmania held up their bargain, winning by five points, but Queensland North needed a large win over New South Wales Country to qualify.
They were up in the final quarter by seven points before NSW Country ran over the top of them, scoring 14 of the last 18 points of the game, to win 70-67.
Queensland North were eliminated with the loss.

Kijana Mccowan and Jade Crook scored 17 points for NSW Country.
The other under-18 girls game saw Queensland South secure second in Pool B with a 72-46 win over Victoria Country.
Emma Petrie starred for the home side scoring 21 points and having six rebounds.
In the boys under-18 competition, there were big wins for Victoria Country and New South Wales Metro.
Vic Country defeated ACT by 42 points, 112-70, with Joel Robinson scoring 27 points.
New South Wales Metro dominated their clash with Northern Territory, winning 140-53.
Three players scored more than 20 points with Henry Lau top-scoring with 26.
The big win for NSW Metro put them into the quarter finals with fourth in Pool B with Vic Country claiming top spot in Pool A.
Vic Country had six wins out of six in the pool stage.

Finally, Victoria claimed two wins in the Junior Wheelchair Cup, beating New South Wales 68-36 and Queensland 56-42.
The wins moved Victoria to second on the ladder after starting the day with no wins for the tournament.

Queensland South will looking to enter the finals on a winning note when it faces Victoria Country in their final preliminary match.
The two teams are level with three wins and one loss each in the championships but Queensland South has been better offensively, scoring 50 more points in their contests compared to today’s opposition.
On the line for both teams is second spot in Pool B.
Earlier, NSW Country girls eyed off a possible top two finish in Pool A taking on Queensland North.
The pick of two boys games looks to be the 1pm clash between Vic Country and ACT. NSW Metro play Northern Territory at 5pm in the other clash.
The day starts and finishes with the Junior Wheelchair Cup, with Victoria and NSW kicking off proceedings at 9am. The Vics back up at 7pm to face the impressive Queenslanders.
