St Mary’s might have marched home with a 100-point win, but there was enough out of the understrength Wanderers to believe there is fight still left in the proud club. Watch the REPLAY.

St Mary’s have further secured their spot in the top two after taking control late in their match against a Wanderers side that showed plenty of fight.

The Green Machine came in hunting a percentage booster, and while they got there Wanderers played potentially their best game of the season scoring two goals.

However, Saints overcame their fight and celebrated the 100th game for Barbara Ilett to win 16.14 (110) to 2.0 (12).

Wanderers came out the better side applying the pressure out of the midfield and on the Saints’ defence while sporting their pink breast cancer awareness jerseys.

And they got reward for their effort fairly quickly with Isabelle Worth knocking in the first goal of the match catching St Mary’s by surprise early on.

But Saints bounced back quickly through the boot of Adelaide Crows Danielle Ponter, first getting the ball down field and then sprinting down to score the goal.

Billie Byers and Jo Miller were everywhere around the midfield working well in tandem with Ponter and Amelia Kahr to ensure they were on top of things.

The Wanderers backline gave a good account of themselves and disrupted plenty of Saints attacks and kept themselves in the contest early on netting themselves another goal to beat their previous record.

Though Saints kept coming and Emma Stark kicking four straight in a five goal game halted momentum from the win-hungry Wanderers.

And Saints took full advantage from there kicking goals left and right to race the margin out.

St Mary’s have a shot at a big percentage booster when they take on the struggling Wanderers in Round 14 of the NTFLW.

St Mary’s are on a six-game winning streak, with their only loss of the season coming against the still undefeated Queenants.

And fresh off the bye, they will be eager to maintain the rage heading into the finals.

Key to that is Adelaide Crows AFLW player Danielle Ponter, who kicked five goals against Southern Districts in Round 12.

The St Mary's and Wanderers women will go head to head in Round 14.

Their opponents sit at the bottom of the table without a win to their name, but much to their credit they have turned up for each and every game.

In many ways, they had their big breakthrough in Round 13 when Anne Marie Collins kicked their first goal of the season against table-toppers PINT, and they will be eager for that feeling again.
