The Tiwi Bombers were back to their entertaining best as the side won its first game at TIO Stadium in four seasons against Palmerston.
The match was preceded by a smoking ceremony to remember Tiwi Bombers players who died shortly before the start of the season.
It was an occasion which invigorated the side as they surged early and never looked back showing off some of the best of Tiwi-style footy in their 13.11 (89) to 6.10 (46) win.

Karlson Kantilla was the early ball winner for the Bombers tussling with Kain Fuller in the ruck, while Kim Kantilla showed off his pace time after time bursting out of the midfield.
While both sides missed early chances on goal, once they got going it was all Tiwi with an exciting flurry of first quarter goals following a Henry Kerinauia score.
With the scores came confidence and Tiwi showed, despite their free-flowing scoring, their zoning defence was almost as impressive, exposing a flat Palmerston attack.
Ashton Hams was as busy as always for the Magpies picking up plenty of ball out of the backline as he tried to create something.

Meanwhile, Lucas Edmonds did find the goal in an overall inaccurate side with some of the usual scorers including Joshua Patullo shooting off angle.
But it was Tiwi’s day, and especially a day for the Kantilla family with captain Brendan, Kim, Roy and Karlson involved in absolutely everything.
They dominated nearly every contest with Stanley Tipiloura bringing pace to the midfield, while the crowd were on their feet every time Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti got his hands on the ball.
Palmerston had a late fight back, including three goals to Broderick Church, to put some respectability on the scoreboard, but it was not near enough to claw back the win.
“It’s been a long time coming for us, it’s been a while since we’ve had a win, we’ve got a good young group coming through and we’ve been through a lot so it’s good to get this win,” Kim Kantilla said.
“I felt really good out there and got some goals, but working with this group, we all had the mentality down.
“We’ve been working hard in the offseason and coming off the TIFL season, instead of going away, has set the boys up well for the season.
“We’ve got a great group behind the scenes and a new coach, and Tippa coming back has had a massive influence, it’s brought the community together and it’s good to have him back.”

PREVIEW
The Palmerston Magpies and Tiwi Bombers are both chasing first wins of the season when they clash at TIO Stadium.
The NT News and KommunityTV will be there to stream the whole match from 4.30pm Saturday.
Tiwi had an eventful start to their year only narrowly losing to last year’s runners-up Southern Districts, a sign better things may be on the way.
Brendan Kantilla was among the standouts in the side, while Brayden Rioli proved he can be a real danger man in front of goal when given a chance.
Meanwhile, Palmerston didn’t have the result they would have wanted against Wanderers back in the season opener.
However, Ashton Hams and Bailey Young were ball magnets throughout the contest, while Kain Fuller was impressive in the ruck.
The side have had an extra week of training with their Round 2 bye and will be hoping to give a better account of themselves as they chase a win.
Full replays of the match will be posted here following the game’s finish.
The NT News and AFL Northern Territory have come together in a partnership to livestream both the Men’s and Women’s Premier League games for this TIO NTFL season.
