NTFL 2023-24: Watch Nightcliff Tigers vs Wanderers Round 3 livestream

The Tigers roared to life in the third round of the NTFL season with some Mummery Magic leading the way. Watch the REPLAY of their clash with Wanderers.

Replay: Nightcliff v Wanderers - NTFL Round 3

The Nightcliff Tigers dominated Wanderers at TIO Stadium on the back of their efficient ball use and accurate goal kicking.

The Round 3 encounter was a chance for both sides to get back on the winner’s list after both dropped games the previous week.

Nightcliff put their hands up for the honours and almost had it sealed by half time on their way to a 20.8 (128) to 10.10 (70).

The Tigers surge was there from centre bounce with Jackson Lock locking down the ruck contest, gifting dual Nichols medal winner Brodie Filo plenty of ball to play with.

And their forwards were all too happy to lap it up as the likes of Sam Overall, Kyle Emery and Brett Kennedy notched the majors as they came.

But it was new recruit Cody Szust, from North Adelaide in the SANFL, who best served his side in a five-display, while Michael Mummery was the excitement factor with a couple slick grabs.

Their run and carry was second to none consistently able to carve through the Muk Muks defence, despite the best efforts of opposition captain Mitchell Taylor.

Despite the score line Wanderers did stick in the contest all night long, and in the second half found some more scoring as Nathan Arbon and Dray Thompson got more of the ball in the midfield.

They scored the last five goals of the match to help their percentage with former Port Adelaide player Marlon Motlop and Mahli King getting multiple each late in the piece.

“Coming up to have a kick is something I’ve wanted to do for a few years and Nightcliff are a great club with a great culture,” Szust said.

“This was an important win for us coming off the loss last week, and it came down to the energy from our mids coming off the ruck.

“We all worked together and gave each other space while running at the same pace.

“Near the end we did get bit a tired and conceded, I think we finished it off solidly but we could have finished it off a bit better.”

PREVIEW

Wanderers and Nightcliff both have a chance of bolstering their standing when they go head-to-head at TIO Stadium.

The NT News and KommunityTV will be there to stream every moment from 7pm Saturday.

Wanderers came into the season as a side in transition, and despite losing their second round match to Buffaloes have impressed so far this season.

The Muk Muks never went away against the league’s only undefeated side, with Aiden Domic kicking three goals and Nathan Arbon again dominating possession.

Meanwhile, Nightcliff had their kicking boots on last time they came to TIO Stadium in Round 1, notching 10.3 to beat St Mary’s then.

They will be hoping for more of the same after dropping their home match to PINT last week, and they do have the firepower to get the job done.

Veteran Cam Ilett has picked up multiple goals in both outings, and dual Nichols medallist Brodie Filo has seen plenty of the ball.

Full replays of the match will be posted here following the game’s finish.

The NT News and AFL Northern Territory have come together in a partnership to livestream both the Men’s and Women’s Premier League games for this TIO NTFL season.
