The first game would have originally seen Tiwi take on Southern Districts, however the Bombers have since withdrawn from the competition due to Covid.

But there’s still plenty of action to come with three games promising plenty of intensity and Territory talent.

League leaders Nightcliff Tigers return to action after a week off and will face off against a Palmerston Magpies unit looking for a confidence booster at Nightcliff Oval from 6.30pm.

Nightcliff didn’t a chance to play in Round 15 but will be back to prove they belong at the top with their arsenal of stars including Shaun Wilson and Ryan Nyhuis.

However, Palmerston have limited opportunities left this season with finals no longer a chance but there should be no doubting their quality with former AFL players Neville Jetta and Cam Pedersen in.

Then it’s over to Gardens Oval from 6.15pm for what’s shaping up to be the match of the round when second placed Waratah take on third placed St Mary’s.

Both sides are in good form but will know this encounter could very well decide where they finish come the end of the competition.

On Sunday it’s over to Tracy Village Oval where Wanderers will host the Darwin Buffaloes from 4pm.

Wanderers will be targeting a vital win here to keep their top three hopes alive while Buffaloes will throw everything they can to cause the upset.
