2025-26 NTFL live stream: Watch Wanderers v Southern Districts in Round 6

Southern Districts' unstoppable march continues with their sixteenth straight win, putting Wanderers to the sword in a monster win in round 6. Watch the REPLAY here.

An 11-goal opening term by Southern Districts showed the large crowd at Tracy Village Oval just why the reigning premier remains on top of the ladder with an unblemished start to the season.

The Crocs lifted their Men’s Premier League winning run to 16 games and got themselves some strong percentage points with a 24.10 (154) to 10.9 (69) win against Wanderers.

High among the Crocs prime movers in the first term were ruckman Wyatt Ryan who commanded the aerial contests and former Geelong, Port Adelaide and Fremantle AFL player Quinton Narkle (3 goals).

Usual back man Jordan Johnston scored five for the occasion as he ventured up forward while Districts extended their lead at every change.

Although the scoreboard heavily favoured the tricolours, Wanderers gave plenty, but most forward forays were snuffed out by a watertight Districts defence which burned off their opponents and cleverly found teammates further afield.

Wanderers started strongly in the second term and were rewarded with a wonderfully snapped goal by resting ruckman James Hughes.

However, Croc ‘everywhere man’ Beau Schwarze equalised at the seven-minute mark and when Will Farrer goaled from 55m out after a vintage high-leaping mark, his team regained composure against a desperate opposition.

A goal to tri-colour debutant ruckman Finbar Delbridge inside the first minute of the third got the second half underway.

Although Wanderers surged forward with skipper Matthew Motlop goaling, a quick response by Schwarze and Farrer put the visitors ahead by 72-points at the final change.

A goal to Croc captain Michael Bowden early in the last simply iced the cake for his team and a victory was assured.

Veteran Croc forward Will Farrer showed glimpses of past glories where his high marking and precision goal kicking were reminders of yesteryear performances.

“I realise I can’t do the things of years ago and I’m conscious now that I must keep my body in good nick so I can give all on Saturdays and Sundays for the team,” Farrer said.

“These days I rely more on my teammates because I can’t get up as high as I used to, so I make contests and hopefully others can benefit.

“With the team we’ve got there is a lot of depth, but we are not focussing on the big picture just yet and hopefully we will be in a good position after the Christmas break.”

PREVIEW

A week out of the action will not have slowed down the star-studded Southern Districts as they aim to make it 16 NTFL wins in a row against Wanderers.

Every moment of the match will be live streamed from 4pm on Saturday by The NT News and KommunityTV as part of our season-long coverage.

WHY TO WATCH

The reigning premier Crocs have not been short of firepower all season, demolishing all-comers in their hunt for consecutive flags.

And Ash Johnson, Lloyd Johnston and Quinton Narkle are the AFL-tested players they’ve added to their already strong list with great effect.

Usual performers Jed Anderson and Matt Shannon have already put their mark on the season and will be high up in the possessions again against the Muk Muks.

For Wanderers, this is their first match of their season at their adopted home of Tracy Village Oval, and will be prepared for a tough match.

Tyler Phillips is arguably one of the competition’s form rucks while Cody Leggett and Billy Shanks are getting plenty of the ball.

The Muk Muks notched their only win of the campaign a fortnight ago before a tight loss to Waratah last time out, but they’ll need to be at their very best to be in with any shot against the ladder leaders.
