2025 Coates Talent League live stream: Eastern Ranges v Oakleigh Chargers and Gippsland Power

A 202cm basketballer has caught the attention of AFL clubs after choosing to focus on footy – and the ruckman will figure for the Eastern Ranges on Sunday. Watch two Coates League matches LIVE here.

AFL clubs are circling a potential 202cm draft bolter after he made the decision to focus on football.

Eastern Ranges’ ruck Marcus Krasnadamskis played his first Coates Talent League game in round 9 and has figured in the best on every occasion since.

His Eastern Ranges boy’s side will tackle the Oakleigh Chargers in round 14 this Sunday at La Trobe University from 10.30am, with the girl’s match between the Ranges and the Gippsland Power to follow at 1pm. Both matches will be streamed live on KommunityTV.

Krasnadamskis had been a late addition to the Ranges this year, and was on the list in 2024 but didn’t play a game as he pursued basketball. He had spent time with the Centre of Excellence, played in Vic Metro basketball squads and won the national schools championships with Berwick College in December.

“Now he’s decided to come back to footy and there’s been a lot of AFL interest in the last four weeks he’s played,” said Eastern Ranges talent lead Daniel Ryan.

“He’s 202cm tall and does things 202cm shouldn’t do. He’s very agile and very clever with the ball in hand, he makes the right decisions, when to kick, when to handball.

“He’s exciting to have in … especially when he hasn’t been around, it certainly gets the recruiters scrambling to fast track themselves to get up to speed with what he can do and what he can’t do.”

Rebounding defender Oskar Taylor is another player who has been “absolutely flying” for Ranges this season.

“(He) actually has a defensive mindset first, he wins his one-on-ones and he’s got leg speed and a great step on him and he’s just building in confidence week in week out,” Ryan said.

“He’s given us a lot of drive coming out of defence. We played him on the ball in the last quarter last week to have a different look and he certainly gave us that.

“He uses the ball well and really breaks the lines, we’re hoping to see him step up with a couple of key backs that are going to be out.”

192cm key forward Sullivan Robey has also turned heads since cracking the Ranges side in round 12 off the back of strong performances for Rowville at senior level, where he kicked six goals in two matches.

There will be changes aplenty to the Eastern Ranges boy’s side this weekend given a Vic Metro national championships match falls on the same day, while Rod Ali, Jamie Armitage and Sam Devers will all be rested.

11 underage players are set to figure.

“With Metro gone it gives us an opportunity to have a look at our younger kids coming through … it gives them an opportunity to get that extra development,” Ryan added.

Both Oscar Cafiso and Ryan McConnell are set to return to the Ranges side after playing APS football with Caulfield Grammar. The pair both made their Eastern league senior debuts last weekend, ironically playing against each other for Vermont and Mitcham respectively.

Max Nicoll, from Scotch College, is set to make his Eastern Ranges debut.

“He’ll be at key forward and a second ruck for the day, in a ruck/forward rotation,” Ryan said.

“He’s had a lot of injuries in the past 18 months, it’s exciting to have him back.

Nash Chandler and Jordan Knapp will also return from Yarra Valley Grammar. Both performed strongly last weekend as their side toppled Penleigh and Essendon Grammar to secure a home AGSV semi-final.

Chandler’s father Brett featured at AFL level for Fitzroy and North Melbourne, but played 72 games so Nash doesn’t qualify as a father-son for either club.

“Over the pre-season and early in our Coates League season he found a bit of form, he’s very good aerial, but very good at ground level,” Ryan said of Chandler.

“He’s going to come in and hopefully provide forward pressure for us. He’s got a lot of talent.”

Jordan Knapp, still bottom-age, is a classy inside midfielder.

“(Knapp) is going to give us a different look in the midfield. He’s a nice player that moves well across the ground and makes really good decisions, he’s got a good footy IQ,” Ryan said.

With head coach Lauren Morecroft also on Vic Metro duties, forward line coach Simon Abrahams will take the reins as head coach on Sunday.

In the girl’s clash, it’s third versus fourth when the Ranges meet Gippsland.

The Ranges girl’s side will have a different look about it with nine players unavailable due to Vic Metro commitments, with five under-16s set to take to the field.

Among the players to watch are winger Bridie Neale, midfielder/forward Ashleigh Thatcher - who narrowly missed Vic Metro selection - defender Emma Di Petta and Briannan Lambe, who has kicked 11 goals across seven games for Ranges this season.
