BEST BET
CLOSE TO MIDNIGHT (Race 3 No.3): The three-year-old wasn’t far from the smart Biancelli at Caulfield last time out. He can improve on the bigger Sandown Hillside circuit.
NEXT BEST
VERHOEVEN (Race 1 No.4): Verhoeven closed well when beaten less than a length first-up and will be fitter. Expecting him to run on well again.
DIWALI (Race 5 No.10): The stayer was a touch unlucky not to place in Saturday grade last time. He drops in class here and will be around the mark.
VALUE BET
PEEL THE STICKERS (Race 7 No.8): Peel The Stickers didn’t quite see out the 1600m on the Lakeside track. He’s back to 1500m on Wednesday and could overcome a tricky draw.
THE JOCKEY
Jockey Jamie Melham heads to Sandown for seven rides on Wednesday. SKY SISTA (Race 1 No.9 – $5.50), CONICAL NET (Race 2 No.8 – $11), EXPRESS YO’SELF (Race 3 No.7 – $10), DIVINO CAVALLO (Race 4 No.10 – $5.50), BOARDRIDER (Race 6 No.13 – $4.60), SURPRISE COMING (Race 7 No.12 – $9.50), LOWLANDS (Race 8 No.17 – $8).
