THE only certainty about this weekend’s Central Australian Football League’s semi-finals is the amount of uncertainty .
Minor premier Rovers and Federal kick off proceedings in the 12.30pm second semi-final at Traeger Park.
The Pioneer-Souths elimination first semi-final is set down for 6.30pm.
Rovers and Federal have shared the points in their two clashes this season, Federal winning their Round 3 clash by four points and Rovers winning by 66 points in Round 8.
Double Blues coach Damien Hall is confident his midfield and forward line players can get his side over the line.
Cameron Ilett comes into the side, joining St Mary’s teammate Shaun Edwards in the Rovers starting 18.
Federal is expected to play Hugo Drogemuller in the game to decide who takes the short route to the grand final and gets a week off.
Federal coach Dave Thomas knows his side will have to play four quarters of football to beat the Double Blues.
“That’s something we didn’t get right the last time we played them,’’ he said.
We were good about a half then they outclassed us.’’
Pioneer coach Danny Measures is well aware of the fierce rivalry between his club and Souths.
“Souths have still got big connections with players right across Central Australia.’’
Measures will rotate Curtly and Jamie Hampton through his forward line, along with the in-form Jamal Lynch.
Souths boss Darren Talbot conceded his side will be weakened by injury and work.
“But they will give it their best shot, they have shown great character in playing for the club logo and each other.’’
