Not long ago Chelsea were looked at as a modern powerhouse, but even after spending a billion pounds over the past year, the Blues are on track for their worst table finish since 1994 and currently sit 12th.

Luckily for Chelsea, it has a chance to bounce back against the league’s worst team this weekend, facing off with Sheffield United and its miserable away record of 0-1-6.

Football Today’s Marcus Bazzano and Liam ‘Stats Guy’ McAllion discuss how the Blues aren’t as strong without constantly injured captain Reece James, but are slowly building a strong game plan under Mauricio Pochettino.

Football Today Podcast host Alex Donnelly isn’t as convinced, believing Pochettino’s job isn’t safe, but Chelsea should be able to get the job done and have a 6-2 aggregate across the last two meetings with the Blades.

TIP: Chelsea & Under 3.5 goals

Usually this fixture isn’t one circled on the calendar - with the Magpies unbeaten against the Cottagers since 2014 - but these sides are in extremely contrasting form.

Football Today’s Marcus Bazzano and Liam ‘Stats Guy’ McAllion covered in this week’s EPL preview episode just how impressive Fulham have been following back-to-back 5-0 wins and leading striker Raul Jimenez in great form with three goals across those two outings.

Football Today Podcast host Alex Donnelly headlines this game in his ‘Doomsday Scenario’ segment, as Newcastle continue to fall down the table, losing its last two games by three goals.

The Magpies are dealing with a huge amount of first team injuries and Football Today’s experts think the amazing form of Fulham will continue for a huge upset at St James’ Park.

LIVERPOOL vs MANCHESTER UNITED

Anfield, Monday 3:30am AEDT

The Red Devils travel to Anfield this weekend to take on Liverpool for the first time since a 7-0 thrashing in March.

Liverpool will play host to its biggest crowd in over 50 years, with a recent refurbishment to the Anfield grandstand completed in time for this weekend’s game.

Football Today host Alex Donnelly has this game circled as his ‘Big Call’ for the weekend, believing that Liverpool will score five or more goals against United, due to the Red Devils conceding goals in five straight games against arguably weaker opposition.

Despite pressure mounting on United manager Erik ten Hag to keep his job with recent results going against him, Football Today’s Marcus Bazzano and Liam ‘Stats Guy’ McAllion believe that ten Hag remains the right man for the job.

Donnelly isn’t so sure, stating that they don’t yet have a game plan that’s conducive to scoring goals, having only scored 18 goals in 16 games so far this season and stars like Marcus Rashford and Antony massively underperforming.

All of the Football Today panel agree that Liverpool who have 36 goals to their name so far this season will be too strong for United in this one.

TIP: Liverpool & Over 2.5 goals
