Harrison Devenish-Meares has been rewarded for unseating former Socceroos goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne with an upgraded Sydney FC contract.
Devenish-Meares, who joined Sydney seven months ago on a two-year deal, has signed a new contract that will extend his time with the Sky Blues until at least the end of the 2026-27 A-League season.
“This club feels like home, and I’m excited to be a part of its future for the next three years,” Devenish-Meares said
“I’ve gained great experience so far making my debut in the A-League and playing internationally in the AFC Champions League (Two), and I’m keen to keep improving here.
“I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together moving forward.”
Having started the season playing second fiddle to veteran keeper Redmayne, 28-year-old Devenish-Meares seems to have edged ahead in the battle to be Sydney’s preferred option between the posts.

“His performances have shown maturity, composure, and leadership in key moments,” Talay said.
“In the AFC Champions League (Two), he’s made some crucial saves that kept us in games, and in the A-League he has been very consistent.
“He’s a vital part of our squad, and I believe his best years are ahead of him.
“Harrison brings a great attitude to training every day. He’s always looking to improve, and that’s exactly the mindset we want at this club.
“I’m excited to see him continue to grow and reach new heights over the next few seasons. I’m confident he’ll play an even bigger role in our success in the years to come.”
