DARWIN Sistaz benefited from the flair and precision of their young players to storm past Litchfield 44-16 in round 11 of the NRL NT Women’s Premiership at Territory Rugby League Stadium on Friday night.
Sistaz showed their skill and power early on, moving the ball well to put plenty of pressure on the Bears’ defensive line. And that paid off soon enough as five-eighth Talia Corrie pushed the ball out to the right wing where Advenia Baptista crossed for the opening score.

Litchfield bounced back quickly with a strong attack culminating in a low drive from Sarah O’Connor to see her side on the scoreboard.
But Sistaz still had plenty of push in them with a typically strong run from Ellie Niki setting Erica Kurnoth up for another score for the reigning premiers.
Abi Sekitoga also imposed herself on the game from fullback, breaking the line for her first of two tries, while Corrie darted through for one of her own. Tyla Kingdon picked up a brace in the second half, crashing through the Bears’ defence, while captain Bianca Stokes and Kiera Kurnoth also crossed the white paint for their side.
Litchfield didn’t go down without notching some scores themselves, with O’Connor scoring her second, while captain Shari Togo also notched a try.
Leeanne Allia, who kicked two goals, praised her young players, crediting their ability and will for the win.
“It’s a good win for us. The young girls have really stepped up and we’re happy to see them taking the lead in games like this,” Allia said.
“They’ve been really good for us and in this game they set the platform, while our forwards finished off their work. But it’s those younger girls that deserve the credit.
“Our focus going forward is as normal – get everyone out to training and take that on to the field.”
