A tournament that had started so promisingly for Australia with five straight wins including a comprehensive defeat of reigning champions England came a cropper inside 48 hours, with defeats to Afghanistan and India sending Australia to the brink before Bangladesh bungled a small chase to extinguish Aussie hopes.

There was so much public debate in the lead-up to this tournament about the composition of the Australian squad, so with the beauty of hindsight it’s time to look at who fired, who flopped, and who never got a look in at all?
