Former Brisbane Heat captain Chris Lynn blasts unbeaten century in the UK

As auditions for his next BBL club go, former Heat captain Chris Lynn put in a special one in the UK.

He may be without a Big Bash club after being cast aside by the Brisbane Heat, but slugger Chris Lynn has continued his scintillating form in the UK by blasting an unbeaten century for Northamptonshire in the Vitality Blast.

Lynn, the former Heat captain and all-time leading run scorer in the BBL, is without a club having been let go by Brisbane last month, but he’s shown any prospective clubs he still has the arsenal to be a T20 weapon.

The 32-year-old, who also has more sixes (180) in the BBL than any other players, was part of two 100-run partnerships and finished on 106 not out, off just 66 balls, with 12 fours and three sixes in a big win over Leicestershire.

Lynn’s century came after opening scores of 16 and 83 in the premier T20 competition in England as a message to any potential BBL suitors.

Lynn was let go by the Heat after 11 seasons in Brisbane, having managed just 215 runs in 12 matches last season.

The imminent return of Queensland captain Usman Khawaja, after he left the Sydney Thunder, also played a part in Lynn’s departure.

Lynn has been linked to both the Melbourne Stars and Renegades, although he has yet to formally announce his next BBL club.

His century was just his third in 226 T20 games around the world.
