How to plan, trade in SuperCoach BBL during the festive season
Playing SuperCoach through the festive season means plenty of juggling — these are the trades and easy advice to follow to get through the first four rounds of BBL15.
We know life can get busy during the festive season.
You know, that period of the year where you never know what day it is, let alone what BBL matches are being played that day.
This is a foolproof guide to get you through the opening rounds of SuperCoach BBL for BBL15 - but come January, you’re on your own.
Follow these steps and you will be on the path to SuperCoach BBL glory.

MUST-HAVE PLAYERS: THE FIVE NAMES EVERY TEAM NEEDS
BETWEEN ROUNDS 1 AND 2
ROUND 1 ENDS: Approx 11pm AEDT, Thursday, December 18
ROUND 2 STARTS: 7.15pm, Friday, December 19
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
● There’s less than a 24-hour turnaround between rounds 1 and 2.
● Sydney Thunder and Brisbane Heat play twice in round 2, so your trade targets should come from those teams.
● Try to stash at least 1-2 players from these teams on your bench in round 1 so you’re ready.
Hobart has a double in round 3, so plan to hold your Hurricanes for at least another two rounds.
● Don’t be afraid to use a boost and burn four trades if you need to grab a cheapie you missed too.
TRADES YOU COULD MAKE
● Three Sydney Sixers players to a combination of three Brisbane Heat/Sydney Thunder players.
● Three Sixers to a Heat player, a Thunder player and a cheapie with a negative break even.
USING A BOOST: Three Sixers players and a cheapie who performed poorly in round 1 to four players from the Heat and Thunder.
MUST HAVE PLAYER FOR ROUND 2 - Shaheen Shah Afridi $152k BWL (Heat)
PREDICTED XIS: HOW EVERY TEAM WILL START BBL15
BETWEEN ROUNDS 2 AND 3
ROUND 2 ENDS: Approx 11pm AEDT, Tuesday, December 23
ROUND 3 STARTS: 6.05pm, Friday, December 26
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
● There’s a turnaround of more than two days between rounds 2 and 3 - but that period includes Christmas and Christmas eve
● Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Stars play twice in round 3.
● The Stars also play twice in round 5, so don’t be afraid to load up on players from the green side of Melbourne.
● You should still have at least a few Hurricanes left from the round 1 double, so try to avoid using a boost.
Make sure you have Glenn Maxwell for Melbourne Stars’ double.
TRADES YOU COULD MAKE
Three Sydney Thunder players to three Melbourne Stars players.
Three Brisbane Heat players to three Melbourne Stars players.
USING A BOOST: A combination of four Thunder and Heat players to four Melbourne Stars players. The Thunder and Heat do not have another double in BBL15 after round 2.
MUST HAVE PLAYER FOR ROUND 3 - Glenn Maxwell $201k BAT-BWL (Stars)
BETWEEN ROUNDS 3 AND 4
ROUND 3 ENDS: Approx 11pm AEDT, Monday, December 29
ROUND 4 STARTS: 7.15pm, Tuesday, December 30
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
● The turnaround between rounds 3 and 4 is less than 24 hours.
● Perth Scorchers are the only team who play twice in round 4.
Melbourne Stars have a bye in round 4.
● The Stars also play twice in round 5, so try to stash your Stars players on the bench rather than trading them out.
● This is a round to consider using a second boost if you don’t have any Scorchers players. Perth has so many big scorers you will want at least four in your team.
TRADES YOU COULD MAKE
Three Hobart Hurricanes players to three Perth Scorchers players.
A combination of Hobart, Thunder and Heat players to three Perth Scorchers players.
USING A BOOST: A combination of Hobart, Thunder and Heat players to four Perth Scorchers players.
