Collingwood forward Jamie Elliott joins the AFL Gamers Network

Like numerous other AFL players, Collingwood forward Jamie Elliott is a massive gamer. And with time on his hands in the AFL shutdown, he has taken his passion to the next level.

Collingwood star Jamie Elliott has a secret confession – he is a huge gamer.

And now he’s taking it to a new level by joining the AFL Gamers Network.

It’s a new platform where players from across the league will join and stream their sessions on Youtube.

Fans will also be able to take part and interact with the players throughout the sessions.

It will be launched Thursday night from 6pm to 8pm.

“It’s an opportunity to play games with other players, start some rivalries, chat with fans and interact with them and have a bit of fun,” Elliott said.

“I’ve been a fan of gaming since I was about six years old playing Super Nintendo growing up with my sister and brothers.

“Especially playing AFL football, it’s a bit of a release for me.

“It’s balance for me and takes my mind off footy.

Elliott has set up a study at home where he plays, often with and against other AFL players such as Jack Viney, Zak Jones and Mitch Robinson.

“The games I play most often are Fortnite and Call of Duty at the moment. Whatever my mates are playing as I like playing with other people,” he said.

“We usually play together (with other AFL players).

“I haven’t played anything too competitive against other players but I’m sure the AFL Gamers Network there will be a little bit of competition and rivalries that will start.

“I team up with boys from the club. I played with Mitch Robinson the other night and we played some Fortnite which was good fun.”
