HE’S already a big-game player and premiership winner with St Mary’s in the NTFL and he’s still just 22.
And last night Brothers star winger Nick Yarran also announced himself as a big-game rugby league player with a best-on-ground performance against raging-hot favourites the experienced Litchfield Bears.
The Brothers junior only made his A-grade debut this season but made a swift impression on his teammates.
Facing off against the two-time champions Litchfield, Yarran and his Brethren side showed a wealth of ability and composure beyond expectations of a side so young.
“It’s a bit surreal to get the win as a lot of us boys have come through the junior grades and some of us have just come back so to get this is unreal for us,” Yarran said.
“We just played a real good brand of footy. Litchfield came back at us in the end and they fought back but we held and got the premiership.
“I didn’t expect to get best on ground. I played my part and for that to happen as well is unreal. I’m ecstatic and lost for words on what it means to me.
“We’ve got a lot of good boys out there such as Dan Warren, Nick Sauer and all our forwards who put in work day after day so it could have gone to anyone but to go to me is unreal.
“We’ve got a really bright future with a lot of young guys wanting to stick in so I can see it being a successful future for the club.”
