Jake Paul trolls rival with cruel detail in 1.6m boxing outfit

Jake Paul splashed plenty of cash on his outfit for a fight against Tyron Woodley and couldn’t resist taking a swipe at another rival.

Jake Paul called Tommy Fury a “b***h”after knocking out Tyron Woodley on Sunday — but he started the trolling even before the fight had begun.

Fury — the younger brother of heavyweight boxing king Tyson Fury — was due to face Paul in a celebrity grudge match in Florida, until he pulled out with a broken rib and chest infection.

Ex-UFC champion Woodley, beaten on points by the YouTuber in August, stepped in with less than two weeks’ notice as a replacement. He probably wished he hadn’t accepted the bout though, getting flattened by a savage overhand right in the sixth round as Paul moved to 5-0 in his professional boxing career.

The YouTube star praised Woodley for stepping into the ring at such short notice as he took aim at Englishman Fury. Paul wore a Union Jack flag outfit for his ringwalk — with one cruel detail.

On the British flag, it read: “Hey Tommy, wish you could’ve been here but watching from a TV is cool too.”

Paul also boasted in a pre-fight show with MMA journalist Ariel Helwani he would wear the most expensive outfit ever for a boxing fight, with reports suggesting it had an estimated value of $AUD1.6 million.

The social media sensation certainly didn’t disappoint. He wore shorts that contained two Rolex watches taped to his waistband and also rocked LCD screens at the bottom of his patriotic trunks featuring red, white and blue stars and stripes.

Paul also walked out to Village People’s 1978 classic YMCA and fans interpreted the lyrics to be another swipe at Fury.

The song starts with: “Young man, there’s no need to feel down. I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground.”

Paul, 24, and Woodley, 39, were six rounds into their rematch and facing boos from the crowd as it failed to reach any great heights. But suddenly, a right hook from Paul landed right on the button and closed the show in dramatic fashion.

Woodley was left out for the count, face down on the floor, as he lost to the American celebrity for a second time.

Paul was quick to praise his rival after the win and yet again slammed Fury, 22, for his withdrawal.

“This guy (Woodley) is a legend,” Paul said. “Don’t take anything away from his career as a UFC champion and respect him for taking the fight on two weeks’ notice because Tommy Fury is a b****.

“He backed out of the fight. This a real fighter, a real dog and a warrior. This guy is a tough fighter right there - legend.”
