SuperCoach NBL: Who to buy, hold and sell in round 15, via the Basketball Blokes

There are so many great buys this week it’s hard to narrow them down. The Basketball Blokes give their verdict on a star-studded round 15.

SuperCoach NBL | Round 15 Best Buys

It doesn’t matter if your team is charging or flopping.

Benny, Banksy and Boydie – the Basketball Blokes – are here to assist with tips to help you rebound.

These are the players you should consider buying, holding and selling in your SuperCoach NBL side for round 15.

SELL

Sells of the week: Jo Lual-Acuil (MEL) $338,700 CTR

Big Jo has got to go. It was a case of being so close yet so far away for Lual-Acuil last round. Against the Kings he recorded 9 rebounds after a shot block and rebound was instead labeled as a steal resulting in him missing out on his double-double bonus points. In his second match-up against the 36ers he did a great job on the glass with 17 rebounds but only finished with 7 points.

These 7 points included shooting 1-4 from the free throw line and 3-13 overall from the field. Simply making his free throws would have resulted in a double-double bonus again. Jo continues a relatively even share of minutes with Ariel Hukporti and with this showing no signs of changing, we suggest rolling with Froling at your Center position for the rest of the season.

Other players to consider selling ...

Luke Travers (MEL) $346,200 GRD/FWD

Despite making the flight up to Sydney, our spies let us know that Travers hadn’t bothered to take his earrings out as he was reportedly a game time decision to start the round. Our Adelaide spies also let us know that he looked quite ginger in the pre-game warm-up against the 36ers.

After we confirmed that this was not a comment about his hair, it was no surprise to see him miss again. Melbourne only has 2 double game rounds for the remainder of the season and they are spread out from one another. Look to trade Travers to Illawarra or New Zealand players who have a much better schedule.

Injured players ...

Aside from Travers, there were plenty of players dealing with injuries last round including DJ Hogg (SYD), Alex Sarr (PER), Chris Smith (BRI), Alan Williams, Abdel Nader and Gary Browne (SEM). Keep an eye out for injury updates for these players and consider trading if required.

BENNY’S BREAK EVANS

Each week Benny will list some of the notable Break Evens for the week ahead – players with low Break Evens are set to rise in price while high Break Evens indicate a looming price drop. Sign up to SuperCoach Plus for the full list of Break Evens plus more stats and tools to help your team.

• Tanner Krebs (-18, 1 game)

• David Okwera (4, 1 game)

• Tai Webster (10, 1 game)

• Angus Glover (12, 2 games)

• Trey Kell (52, 2 games)

• Anthony Lamb (66, 2 games)

HOLD

Hold of the Week: Jaylin Galloway (SYD) $212,700 FWD

Whilst a pair of SuperCoach scores of 18 won’t fill owners with confidence, 30 and 29 minutes of court time are very encouraging with no word on DJ Hogg’s return at the time of writing. Galloway has not returned to his pre-injury scoring since his return from his shoulder injury, but it was awesome to see him getting downhill and being more aggressive last round. If he can combine this aggressiveness with finishing at the rim and include his typical steals and blocks; hopefully we can see a score that owners will be satisfied with this round.

Other players to consider holding ...

Jonah Bolden (SYD) $226,400 FWD/CTR

Jordy Hunter has been the collector of SuperCoach points of late. Last round still had Bolden playing more minutes than Hunter, despite not getting the start. The truth is that whilst they are capped at playing around 20 minutes each, this will continue to hamper their SuperCoach scoring potential. At his current price, with dual positioning and 2 double game rounds over the next 3 weeks, you can HOLD with Bolden.

BANKSY’S BARGAINS

Each week Banksy will rank his favourite cheap players (under 200k) regardless of schedule.

1. Lachlan Olbrich (ILL) $156,400 FWD/CTR

We were extremely high on Lachy O as a cash cow at the beginning of the season, but the minutes nor the production have been what we had hoped for. Priced at 13 SuperCoach points we are finally seeing some fantasy value, with Olbrich averaging 22 SuperCoach points over his last 3 games. Lachie makes for a fantastic downgrade option, with F/C positional flexibility to match. The Hawks boasting the best schedule for the remainder of the season makes the selection all the more appealing.

2. Kyle Bowen (MEL) $149,200 FWD

In the absence of Luke Travers, Kyle saw a decent increase in minutes and that resulted in a boost in production, posting 21 and 22 SuperCoach point games over Melbourne United’s two games last round. The red flag is the unknown surrounding when Luke Travers will return to action. Although Melbourne has a poor schedule moving forward, Bowen will head into Round 15 with a negative break even.

3. Tanner Krebs (MEL) $153,300 FWD

Another player rewarded with a boost in minutes and opportunity with Travers sidelined last round. Krebs had 19 and a whopping 40 SuperCoach points in Melbourne’s two games last round. If Travers struggles to return to action, then Krebs will continue to see an increase in opportunity at a value price heading into round 15, boasting a competition best -18 breakeven along with a predicted $31k price increase.

4. Shannon Scott (BRI) $176,600 GRD

Scott has struggled to string consistent scores together since his return from a hamstring injury, but we are finally starting to see a little normality. He has now played 21 minutes or more over his last three games and that has resulted in an average of 21.6 SuperCoach points per game over the same span. An import with a proven fantasy history priced at 15 SuperCoach points, Brisbane will play 4 games over the next two weeks.

5. Gorjak Gak (CRN) $98,000 CTR/FWD

Unfortunately for SEM, Gorjak Gak returned just as Alan Williams was sidelined. Keep an eye out for an injury update on “Big Sauce,” but Gak will be very much required by a depleted Phoenix side if Williams is to miss longer term. At a price tag of $98k, Gak posted 16 SuperCoach points across 18 minutes off the bench and should continue to build on these numbers after missing 7 of the past 10 games for Phoenix.

BUY

Buy of the Week: Gary Clark (ILL) $349,300 FWD

Although there are a number of options for the buy of the week, the current form, possible cash generation and favourable schedule for Gary Clark gets him across the line. Gary is coming off SuperCoach scores of 41 in each of his last 2 games, getting double-doubles in both of those games. 16 points and 13 boards v SEM in Rd 14 and 14 points and 12 rebounds v Adelaide in Rd 13. Clark is averaging 35.5 SuperCoach points per game over his last 6 games so form is on his side. The Hawks also start a run of 3 double-game rounds over the next 3 weeks, in fact Rd 18 is their only single game round for the remainder of the season.

BOYDIE’S BEST BUYS

Each week Boydie will rank the other best buys for the week ahead.

1. Sam Froling (ILL) $351,700 FWD/CTR

Great schedule and averaging 32 SuperCoach points over his last 6 games and has that all important Forward/Centre eligibility for the run home.

2. Trey Kell III (ADL) $340,300 GRD

3 doubles in the next 4 rounds and dare we say it, a Triple Double threat at the moment!

3. Justin Robinson (ILL) $262,100 GRD

Has found a little bit of form over the last few weeks, averaging just under 25 SuperCoach points over his last 5 games and that Hawks schedule is just too juicy

4. Isaac Humphries (ADL) $313,500 CTR

Although his 23 last round wasn’t flattering, Ice is averaging 31.6 SuperCoach points over his last 6 and has 3 double rounds in the next 4 rounds

5. Milton Doyle (TAS) $305,300 GRD

Coming off his 46 last game and averaging 26 SuperCoach points over his last 6 games we think Milton is a little undervalued coming into Tassie’s Rd 15 double

6. Zylan Cheatham (NZ) $253,400 FWD

7. Anthony Lamb (NZ) $438,100 FWD

8. William McDowell-White (NZ) $205,700 GRD

9. Nathan Sobey (BRI) $343,300

10. Dejan Vasiljevic (ADL) $314,700
