Adelaide have lost four straight games for the first time since 2002, but could a championship-winning Sydney Kings guard help strengthen the roster?

The Adelaide 36ers have shown interest in championship-winning Sydney Kings guard Dejan Vasiljevic for NBL24 - and there is genuine hope a deal could be done despite one stumbling block.

Vasiljevic is set to spend the season in the G League after being waived by the Washington Wizards, but it hasn’t stopped the 36ers from making inquiries.

Adelaide has a vacant roster spot to fill after parting ways with import Jamaal Franklin and the club is keen to secure a local rather than another import.

Vasiljevic has come into calculations despite having a stipulation in his Kings contract after exercising his NBA/European out earlier this year to pursue his NBA dreams.

Code Sports understands the Kings have right of first refusal should Vasiljevic play for another NBL team.

It remains unclear if this will hinder Adelaide’s desire to secure Vasiljevic, but the interest in the two-time championship winner is real.

The 36ers need to make a move after starting the season with four straight losses for the first time since 2002.

The Canadian-born guard has played 88 NBL games thus far across three seasons for the Kings.
