Tributes have poured in for Australian snowboarder Luke “the Dingo” Trembath who has tragically passed away aged 38.

News of Mr Trembath’s death broke on Thursday, after friends and colleagues shared their shock to social media.

“RIP my good friend Luke. Your smile and energy will be greatly missed. Thoughts and prayers to your family,” former NASCAR racing champion Kurt Busch said.

“I’ll race in Australia with your Aussie Dingo spirit sitting shotgun. #brother.”

In a 2020 interview, Mr Trembath said he moved to America from Mt Martha, a suburb in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, after becoming a nationally recognised snowboarder aged 13.

By 17, he was a pro-snowboarder and started Grenade Gloves, a snowboard gloves brand.

Mr Trembath was also known for starring in five seasons of the Fuel TV series “The Adventures of Danny and the Dingo” with two-time Olympic silver medallist Danny Kass.

Mr Kass and Mr Trembath both hosted the “UNLEASHED” podcast for Monster Energy with former UFC ring girl Brittney Palmer. The trio recently released an episode recorded live at the 2025 X Games in Aspen, Colorado earlier this month.

Mr Trembath was also a columnist at independent American imprint Snowboard Magazine.

On Thursday, the magazine’s publisher Jeff Baker said Mr Trembath was “gone far too soon” and made an “everlasting impact on the culture” in tribute posted to Snowboard Magazine’s social media.

“My fondest memory of Dingo was EVERY TIME I saw him in person. Whether it was a day or a year since you last saw him, Dingo always welcomed you with a big warm hug, huge smile and a fun story”, Mr Baker wrote.

“We loved having him around. His infectious personality eventually led to a monthly column in our print mag where he graced us with his charisma, character and personality for a couple seasons.

“Snowboarding is left with a void that can’t be filled but we will always cherish the memories we have with Dingo. Sending deepest condolences to Luke’s family. Rest in peace brother.”
