Justin Jefferson would like to set the record straight about his feisty, hot mic comments he made during Monday’s Minnesota Vikings vs Chicago Bears game.

The rookie receiver was caught by a field microphone yelling at his own quarterback Kirk Cousins out of frustration towards the end of the second quarter while the Vikings were trailing 20-7 to the Bears.

Cousins scrambled out of the pocket and under pressure attempted to hit Jefferson in the back of the end zone. His throw however was high and wide, which caused Jefferson to blow up.

“F***, Kirk! Come on! Throw the ball!” he said in frustration.

Afterwards, the 21-year-old LSU product took to social media to defend himself.

“Y’all love blowing stuff out off proportion. And I ain’t no diva don’t get it twisted,” Jefferson wrote with four laugh-crying emojis.

Jefferson, taken with the 22nd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, hauled in eight out of 11 targets for 104 yards and led the team in all three categories.

He was brought in to replace the departing Stefon Diggs who was traded to the Buffalo Bills and partner with star receiver Adam Thielen. A move that has paid off with Jefferson so far notching up 73 catches on the season for a total of 1,182 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Vikings fell 33-27 to the Bears which takes them to 6-8 on the season and effectively saw their playoff hopes dashed. Currently sitting in third place in the NFC North behind the Green Bay Packers (11-3) and the Bears (7-7).

The Vikings’ next challenge comes on Boxing Day in New Orleans against the 10-4 Saints, who will try to stop a two-game losing streak and retain top spot in the NFC South.
