THE NBA FINALS DATES: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Speaking from Paris on the Herald Sun’s new In The Paint NBA Finals podcast Kyrgios said his focus would be split between the French Open at Roland Garros and the NBA Finals.

“I’m definitely in LeBron’s corner,” Nick Kyrgios told the Herald Sun’s new In The Paint NBA Finals Podcast.

“Obviously I’m a Celtics fan, but I kind of knew from the start we would get to the Eastern Conference Finals and kind of go down to the Cavs, obviously not having Isaiah Thomas ... it was a great to even get there.

“I would love them (Cleveland) to beat the Golden State Warriors.”

Kyrgios says he “can’t stand” pesky Warrior Draymond Green and reckons he’d go all right in the Golden State offence with superstars Steph Curry, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson

“If you put him (Green) on any other team, he’s not going to have the stats he has at the moment,” Kyrgios said

“I feel like I could have eight assists playing for the Golden State Warriors.

“There’s so many guys to pass to.

“Definitely, I would average some pretty good numbers if I played for them as well.”

Kyrgios says he won’t be missing a moment of the NBA Finals — French Open or no French Open.

“Tough first round, most of the Australians have pretty tough draws over here, we’re all preparing and we’re all a pretty cohesive unit so we’re all going to try and get each other over the line,” Kyrgios said.

“But I can’t really wait for the NBA finals to start, and I’m going to watch it, hands down, no matter what time it is.

“It doesn’t matter, I’ll find a way to watch it.”
