In a battle between Ball State and Western Michigan the scenes will leave anyone’s jaw on the floor once they see the action.
Ball State took the lead in the final seconds thanks to a field goal, putting the score at 30-27. Western Michigan got the ball back and had a shot for the win, but nobody could have predicted what was coming next.
Out of time-outs, only six seconds on the clock and with the ball situated beyond the 50 yard mark, Western Michigan needed a miracle.
A short pass kicked off the epic chain of events that sports fans will be talking about for some time.
Ball State’s defence remained tight, forcing Western Michigan into a multitude of lateral passes that at one point had them forced back to within 25 yards of their own end zone.
A lazy pass saw the ball hit the deck and two Ball State players dive on it to bring an end to the contest or so the team thought.
Players on the bench, including the team band, rushed the field only to realise the contest wasn’t over as the ball was still live.
Western Michigan somehow negotiated there way through the chaos and after a few more lateral passes, crossed the line to score the touchdown.
Watch the madness with your own eyes.

Both teams ran onto the field before the play was ruled dead as Western Michigan attempted a last second TD.

Unfortunately for Western Michigan the officials overturned the touchdown due to an illegal forward pass, handing the win to Ball State.
Both teams were handed unsportsmanlike penalties, but it was the pure carnage that left social media in a spin.
Making matters worse for those watching on in America, the game feed cut out midway through the referees making the official call on the final flags and how the contest was being decided.
ESPN’s Field Yates couldn’t believe his eyes: “I missed the end of the Ball State and Western Michigan game earlier and it is *insanity*”.
do you know what it takes for me to tweet about a MAC college football game? what just happened in Ball State/Western Michigan quite possibly the most absurd sequence i have ever seen in the sport. And now the TV feed is gone as mayhem ensues.
