All four round 8 NTFL games to go ahead this weekend

All NTFL games for this weekend are set to go ahead, but there will be some Covid-safe changes.

AFLNT has moved to assure fans that all four of the NTFL games for this weekend are set to go ahead, albeit with some changes due to the current Covid-19 outbreak.

All four games will be played at TIO Stadium with the mask mandate in place for everyone except those engaging in vigorous exercise.

Kicking off the round on Saturday is the Tiwi Bombers meeting against Waratah from 2pm, with the game having been relocated from Wurrumiyanga Oval.

Waratah will be licking their lips at a chance to get into the action after missing two rounds in a row and will be hoping to exert their power against Tiwi. From 4.30pm the in-form Wanderers will take on a Southern Districts side looking to prove themselves against top competition at TIO Stadium. And then from 7pm the Darwin Buffaloes will face off against the ladder leaders Nightcliff Tigers.

The Buffaloes have struggled for results early in the 2021-22 season but will be looking to give their all when they come against the reigning premiers who are currently on a winning run.

On Sunday the Eddie Betts inspired Palmerston Magpies will be hoping to continue their improvement this season against a hungry St Mary’s from 4.30pm.

St Mary’s, like Waratah, haven’t had a chance to play since round 5 due to Covid restrictions and severe weather but are currently set to finally play and celebrate Shannon Rioli’s 200th match.
