THE AFLNT has cancelled all community football matches, training and Auskick in Central Australia until further notice due to the current threat of Covid-19.

A worker at the Granites Gold Mine, 540km northwest of Alice Springs, tested positive to coronavirus early on Saturday.

The mine’s 750-strong workforce is in isolation and Territory health authorities are scrambling to find close contacts.

AFLNT will work closely with Central Australian Football League clubs to work out what this means for community football fixtures during this period.
