TOM Mitchell is set to tell Sydney he wants to be traded to Hawthorn, where he is expected to sign a lucrative four-year contract tying him to Waverley until 2020.
Mitchell’s manager Phil Mullen, of Stride Sports, will meet Swans’ officials and an announcement is expected late Monday or early Tuesday.
Mullen denied a deal had already been struck with the Hawks.

“People know more than we do,” Mullen said.
“We’re still in negotiations, we’re meeting with Sydney (Monday).
“We made an agreement that we would talk to Sydney at the end of the season, and we will do that.”
The Hawks are armed with draft pick No.14 but if they swap that for Mitchell it would place more stress on striking a trade with Gold Coast for Jaeger O’Meara.
The Herald Sun understands Mitchell, 23, met with at least one other Victorian club last week in a certain sign the Grand Final was his final performance for the Swans.
Swans chief executive Andrew Ireland, who flew to Rome on Saturday, was not aware of Mitchell’s future when contacted by the Herald Sun.

The Swans will officially learn Mitchell’s plans on Monday.
Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson and captain Luke Hodge both declared how proud the Hawks were to be a destination club at Saturday night’s best-and-fairest count.
Clarkson said: “Wrighty (list chief Graeme Wright), get to work lad. You’ve got some important stuff to do over the next couple of weeks.
“Players want to come to our footy club because of (fitness coach) Andrew Russell and his team.
“That’s really, really special in terms of being a destination club. A lot of it has got to do with our medical and conditioning team.”
Clarkson signed off with a warning: “Get ready, we’re coming in 2017” with the Hawks set for a busy off-season.
Richmond will not match Hawthorn’s offer for Tyrone Vickery, meaning the forward will this week join the Hawks on a two-year contract worth close to $500,000 per season.
Silky midfielder O’Meara, 22, and inside ballwinner Mitchell will help regenerate Clarkson’s ageing engine room.
Mitchell enjoyed a career-best season, averaging 28 disposals and recording his best finish in the Bob Skilton Medal — eighth.
Mitchell led the Swans in tackles and slotted 15 goals, including two during his team’s second-quarter Grand Final burst.
