SuperCoach AFL 2025: Winners and losers from round 10, early trade advice

Bargain rucks are the best way to make money in SuperCoach – and there is one on the bubble this week. Plus Nick Daicos in free fall and all the key scores from round 10.

Bevo lauds 'exemplary' Bailey Dale

The ruck has become a cheat code for SuperCoach in 2025.

Tristan Xerri and Toby Nankervis slugged it out in a stoppage fest at the MCG on Sunday that produced a combined 278 SuperCoach points

There were more monster scores from some of the biggest ruck stars in the game across the weekend, and one much cheaper big man put up numbers that could solve the SuperCoach cash crisis of 2025.

Check out the key performances from round 10 and this week’s early trade mail.

WHO’S HOT

Rowan Marshall – 179 points

Was on world record pace when he had a bonkers 86 points on the board at quarter-time, but slowed up (in a relative sense) before kicking a goal in the dying minutes to put a stamp on a dominant SuperCoach display – 27 disposals, 18 contested possessions, eight marks, five tackles, five hitouts to advantage. In keeping with the theme of the week, his direct opponent Matt Flynn scored 111, second-most for the Eagles.

Bailey Smith – 156 points

Before round 1 we talked a lot about Smith as a value pick, and not enough about him as an outright SuperCoach star. Port Adelaide tried two taggers – Miles Bergman and Willem Drew – on the Cats’ prime mover, and you can tell how much impact they had by looking at his score. That’s two in a row over 150 for a season average of 120. We need to talk about Smith as a potential captain each week.

Shai Bolton – 150 points

No one does hot and cold like Shai. Three weeks ago he scored 5 points from a full game. Since then he has put up 114 and 150. In fact, it’s four tons in his past five, and he is averaging 90 for the season despite that absolute shocker – which would have dropped out of most scores thanks to best 22 scoring. At $430k he could be a bargain Jason Horne-Francis replacement.

Bailey Dale – 144 points

A mind-boggling 49 disposals as the Dogs ran riot against a woeful Essendon. Just one tackle and three contested possessions goes some way to explaining why Dale didn’t score 244, but he played his role to perfection. He has 124, 127 and 144 from his past three games, and some juicy match-ups for defenders ahead – circle the Tigers and Saints in rounds 14 and 15.

Adam Cerra – 142 points

Huge bounce-back game after Cerra was sent to the backline last week to cover for injuries to multiple teammates. Back in the guts (15 centre bounces) and a huge 34 disposals, seven tackles, six inside-50s and seven intercepts for his best score for the year.

Isaac Heeney – 138 points

This could have been close to a 200-point game if Heeney had kicked straight. As it was, two goals – including one that helped seal the game in the final quarter – and five behinds was enough for his biggest score of the year. Thirty-eight disposals helped, too. Heeney’s price rose only $2k after lockout and you can still get him for under $520k – more than $110k cheaper than his round 1 price. Fancy a POD? He’s in 6 per cent of teams.

Jordan Dawson – 132 points

Death, taxes and Jordan Dawson putting up huge SuperCoach scores against Collingwood. Three of his past four against the Pies are 150, 149 and 132. Dawson started on fire and finished strong with a big contested mark and goal in the final term. The good news for his SuperCoach owners? The Crows play Collingwood again in round 23.

Colby McKercher – 129 points

Has been a shadow of the player who had such a promising debut season in 2024, averaging just 55 points a game over the first nine rounds (down from 88 last year) – and losing almost $190,000 in value. But he found his mojo on Sunday, hitting the target with 19 of his 22 disposals, laying 10 tackles and kicking a goal. If he hits form he could be a huge bargain, but give him at least one more game to be sure – his role didn’t change and he will face much tougher opposition that the Tigers.

Matt Rowell – 124 points

A fifth score over 120 for the season but, man, he can do your head in. After opening the game in a blaze of glory (10 disposals in Q1) Rowell had two touches in the second term for zero SuperCoach points. He was back on track in the second half (17 disposals), with nine clearances helping him to another big – if stressful – SuperCoach score.

Dante Visentini – 84 points

Did someone say ruck cash cow? Every year a back-up ruck emerges mid-season and makes bulk cash in SuperCoach. Is Visentini that man in 2025? Last year it was Jordon Sweet, then man Visentini has replaced, playing as Port Adelaide’s No.1 ruck the past two weeks and produced scores of 98 and 84. That’s enough for a -34 Break Even entering his bubble game this week. He could make plenty of coin in the Flex or if you’re prepared to pay $248k on your ruck bench – as long as he can keep Sweet out of the side.

Christian Moraes – 68 points

Started as the sub again but got his chance early when Jason Horne-Francis went off injured. Made the most of it with 18 disposals to record his best SuperCoach score since round 3, which importantly will reset his Break Even just when coaches are crying out for ways to make cash.

COLD

Nick Daicos – 95 points

PRICE WATCH: Daicos’s price is in free fall after falling almost 100 points short of his 193 Break Even. Is he 100 per cent fit? He didn’t look like the Daicos we know as he sat in single digit SuperCoach points for much of the first half then went most of the last quarter without touching the ball. Given that, 95 is a pretty good score. But if you don’t have him, you’ll be able to pick him up for a bargain price in a couple of weeks.

Zach Reid – 75 points

OK, we’re being very harsh on this year’s top rookie but this was his lowest score in five weeks. His stats weren’t terrible – 15 disposals, seven marks, five tackles – but the Bombers were just smashed all over the field as the Bulldogs hogged most of the SuperCoach pie.

Zach Merrett – 65 points

PRICE WATCH: Has a fantastic record against Richmond but even then a Break Even of 200 seems well out of reach. Merrett is projected to cop a $40k price drop after his next game – and he has Brisbane and Carlton after that. Could be close to $500k in two or three weeks after a surprisingly quiet 20 disposal game against the Dogs.

Riley Bice – 55 points

Almost 30,000 coaches traded out Bice last week and it looks like they made the right call. Never got into the game and finished with 11 disposals, his lowest count of the year. Lost $21,000 in value but you can still bank a $240k profit by trading him this week.

Zak Butters – 53 points

PRICE WATCH: Butters was priced at over $700k two weeks ago but now he’s $633k and coming down fast. And we have one man to thank – Oisin Mullin. The Cats stopper held Butters to just six kicks (20 disposals total) and almost no impact on Saturday. Enters a clash with Fremantle with an eye-watering 206 Break Even and should bottom out in price just as Port Adelaide hits its round 13 bye – perfect timing for SuperCoach!

Sam Flanders – 48 points

The Suns are on track to play finals so we won’t question Damien Hardwick but it is bizarre that he discovered an A-grade midfielder last season (SuperCoach average 119) but is happy playing him at half-forward, where he has averaged 73 for the season with a high of 93. Flanders has lost a whopping $221k from his starting price and is likely to keep tumbling.

Saad El-Hawli – 47 points

Disaster for the 30,000 coaches who traded him in last week when El-Hawli was subbed off for tactical reasons at halftime. At least he gained about 10 points in the second half from scaling (Champion Data determined acts in the first half were more valuable when the game was somewhat close), gained $12k in value and has a negative Break Even this week. But you couldn’t be confident putting him on field.

Jason Horne-Francis – 22 points

A hamstring injury ended the Port star’s night early in a huge blow for more than 89,000 coaches. They face a tough decision now on whether to trade or hold one of this year’s topscoring forwards, whose price dropped under $500,000 after his injury-affected score.
