WHO starred and who stunk in Round 10 AFL SuperCoach action.

Tom Mitchell put on a clinic in Sydney’s midfield, while Max Gawn roared back into SuperCoach form despite Melbourne’s loss to Port Adelaide.

But it was a cut-price Power jet and Swans veteran that could prove to be the most popular selections this week.

SWANS 91 def KANGAROOS 65

Swans studs: Tom Mitchell (178) was clearly best afield with 41 disposals, while Josh Kennedy (161) did not look back after making a fast start against the Roos. Dan Hannebery was on 0 for much of the first quarter but rocketed to 126, while Jarrad McVeigh (116) put in his best performance of the year kicking two goals playing off half back.

Swans duds: Isaac Heeney (50) played a bit part role but it was Luke Parker’s shocker that stunned the SuperCoach world. Parker was thereabouts but just couldn’t get his hands on the ball at the right times. George Hewett started slowly but struggled to run out the match.

Kangaroos studs: Daniel Wells (103) picked up where he left off prior to niggling quad/Achilles complaints, while Todd Goldstein overcame a slow start to score 112. Ben Cunnington was the highest scoring Roo on 115 points.

Kangaroos duds: Take your pick. Drew Petrie (28) couldn’t get near the football, Brent Harvey (46) had chances but failed to capitalise, while early season bolter Jarrad Waite (53) only battled under relentless pressure from the Swans.

LIONS 87 def by HAWKS 135

Lions studs: How good would Dayne Zorko (114) be a strong(er) club?! Rarely gets leather poisoning but what he does do is make the most of every possession. Allen Christensen the only other Lion in triple figures, while Tom Bell scored 99 on the back of his four-goal effort.

Lions duds: What’s happened to Stef Martin (40)? Was one the most prolific scoring big men in the game but has well and truly fallen in a heap. Rhys Mathieson (53) hardly screams pick me after another so-so performance. Daniel Rich (75) is way too inconsistent.

Hawks studs: Jordan Lewis (141) stamped his milestone 250th game with 41 disposals, while Josh Gibson (123) returned to the top of his game after struggling last week.

Hawks duds: Tough on Sam Mitchell (93) but we expect more from players of his calibre and proven scoring history.

MELBOURNE 76 def by PORT ADELAIDE 121

Demons studs: Welcome back to form Max Gawn! The big man had 84 points at half time and finished on 167 to cap off a huge game that included 48 hit outs, 18 disposals and two goals. Nathan Jones (103) led from the front as usual with 28 disposals on a tough day for the Demons. Tom McDonald turned back the clock — to last year — with 99 points, while Jesse Hogan (95) continued his standout form. Neville Jetta (90) was good and Bernie Vince (88) serviceable for his owners.

Demons duds: Yuk. Ben Kennedy please stand up. 0 SuperCoach points midway through the second term had us wondering whether the former Pie was even on the ground. He finished with just 29 points. Christian Petracca (51) came back down to Earth after 100 last week and Jeff Garlett (39) didn’t have his best game. Jack Viney (65) had a rare quiet game.

Power studs: Chad Wingard (136) was outstanding in the victory with 26 disposals and two goals, while Justin Westhoff (125) was right behind him. Robbie Gray (109) returned to form with 28 disposals and five tackles, while Hamish Hartlett (107) had 19 disposals but was a driving force off halfback. Travis Boak (99) also returned to form and led from the front with 24 disposals, while Jasper Pittard (98) provided plenty of run and even ventured forward at times. Charlie Dixon (93) booted five goals and Darcy Byrne-Jones (88) rewarded those who stuck with him.

Power duds: While most of the midfielders fired, Ollie Wines (62) was one who didn’t in SuperCoach world despite 22 disposals. Jared Polec (49) is far from the SuperCoach juggernaut he was two years ago and Jackson Trengove (59) was down on the form of previous weeks.

SAINTS 101 def DOCKERS 67

Saints studs: David Armitage (149) laid a whopping 17 tackles to boost his score, while Jack Steven (138) led the Saints’ second-half revival with 32 touches. Nick Riewoldt (114) wound back the clock with two goals and a couple of vintage marks.

Saints duds: Several Saints posted mediocre scores but none of any SuperCoach relevance.

Dockers studs: Lachie Neale (118) was in a league of his own. Connor Blakely (97) enjoyed a breakout game with 25 disposals and three marks. Michael Barlow (85) struggled early but responded late to post a respectable score.

Dockers duds: One-time SuperCoach favourite Garrick Ibbotson (44) barely troubled the scorers, while Sam Collins did enough on debut.

BOMBERS 67 def by TIGERS 105

Bombers studs: Brendon Goddard (130) was the highest scoring player on the ground from David Zaharakis (122). James Kelly the next best for Essendon on 95, while Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti (82) added to his highlights reel.

Bombers duds: Michael Hartley (19) sustained a hamstring injury and will likely miss the next few weeks. Mitch Brown kicked two goals but could not elevate his score beyond 46 points. Matt Dea was solid but could only muster 60 points.

Tigers studs: Trent Cotchin (122) led the way for the Tigers but it was Dustin Martin (111) who claimed best on ground honours for his 38 disposals. Shane Edwards (114) and Brett Deledio (107) oozed class.

Tigers duds: Daniel Rioli (36) was found wanting on the big stage, while Corey Ellis (56) and Kane Lambert (73) could only manage mediocre scores.

CROWS 107 def GIANTS 85

Crows studs: Taylor Walker (123) appears to be over the injury problems that held him back at the start of the season with back-to-back five-goal hauls to his name. Brodie Smith (108) started slowly but finished like a train and Eddie Betts’ (107) five goals also saw his score tick over into triple figures.

Crows duds: Wayne Milera (34) barely got near the ball, while Paul Seedsman (56) butchered his 18 disposals.

Giants studs: Josh Kelly (132) top scored with 28 disposals, eight marks and a goal. Dylan Shiel (118) got the Giants going in the second half while two late Toby Greene goals boosted his score into the respectable level. Nick Haynes (101) did his 593 SuperCoaches proud with 22 disposals at 86 per cent efficiency.

Giants duds: Rhys Palmer (19) had a stinker, while Adam Kennedy (36) found the step up to AFL level a bridge too far after leather poisoning the past couple weeks in the NEAFL. Stevie J could only manage 48 and Jacob Hopper (57) survived an injury scare to play out the match.

Bryce Gibbs went head-to-head with Patrick Dangerfield and came out on top.

BLUES 104 def CATS 85

Blues studs: Bryce Gibbs (140) was the standout with 34 disposals, Ed Curnow (128) game as ever while Sam Docherty became just the second player this year to defy The Guidance (of SuperCoaches Box podcast fame) and score 121. Kade Simpson got going late to boost his score to semi-respectable levels.

Blues duds: Marc Murphy (12) injured his ankle early in the match and took no further part. Jacob Weitering (59) will drop in price again, while Sam Kerridge (68) is now firmly on the trade chopping block.

Cats studs: Patrick Dangerfield (127) topscored for the Cats but it could easily have been so much more if a couple of those marks had stuck and kicks gone straight. Jimmy Bartel (109) just keeps on piling up the big scores, while Mitch Duncan added 108.

Cats duds: The roller coaster ride continues for Steven Motlop (27) owners after the speedster failed to fire a shot in the disappointing loss. Zac Smith (68) performed well below his best, while Joel Selwood (82) lifted late but it was not enough to avoid the SuperCoach “dud” tag.

MAGPIES 53 def by BULLDOGS 74

Pies studs: Need to plug some holes in your defence or attack? Then Jeremy Howe is your man. The former Demon topscored with 125 points against the Bulldogs, his fourth consecutive score about 100. Another week, another ton for skipper Scott Pendlebury (118), who racked up 32 disposals.

Pies duds: Alan Toovey (five) went off early with concussion and his day was done. American Mason Cox (47) didn’t trouble the scorers this week and Adam Oxley’s (49) price keeps falling by the week. Jordan De Goey (51) recorded his lowest score since Round 2.

Bulldogs studs: Luke Dahlhaus (115) racked up 37 disposals and kicked a crucial goal before three-quarter time to keep the Dogs in the contest. He had excellent support from Jack Macrae (104) and Lachie Hunter (102).

Bulldogs duds: That was by far Jake Stringer’s worst game of the year — no goals, four clangers and just 30 points. Toby McLean’s score of 49 was also a season-low.

EAGLES 132 def SUNS 55

Eagles studs: Josh Kennedy (146) led the way with five goals, while Scott Lycett (113) and Nic Naitanui (112) dominated the stoppages. Matt Priddis (101) was thereabouts.

Eagles duds: Mark Hutchings (42), Shannon Hurn (60) and Jeremy McGovern (65) were among those to miss out on the SuperCoach riches that comes with playing the Suns.

Suns studs: All Hail The King. The King of SuperCoach is BACK! If not for Gary Ablett (143) the Suns could have lost by 150 points. Ablett collected 32 disposals to go with eight tackles and eight clearances. Dion Prestia (94) could have scored more had his disposal been cleaner.

Suns duds: No shortage of options here and despite Aaron Hall (68) registering the Suns’ eighth highest score he leads the duds division. Hall hurt his shoulder early and languished on single figures for much of the first half. Got busy late to boost his score and prevent any rage trades. Late inclusion — debutant — Mackenzie Willis scored 33.
